Moving markers with just one section of audio

MessageAuthor

Okay, I understand that if I place a marker on a piece of audio and select ripple editing all tracks and then drag the audio, the marker will move with it and in position. However, it moves all the audio blocks on that track. Is there any way I can simply select this one section and move that with the marker in place. I come from a post production standpoint, so for sound effect spotting, this would be very useful. Many thanks in advance for any thoughts towards a solution.

Thank you xpander for your thoughts. I will try what you suggest. Mind you, Reaper is so close to doing what I'm looking for except for all items moving and not the one selected. From a post production point of view, it would be a great feature. I have tried simply dragging the item with the mouse but the cursor always slips a little.

Hello again xpander. Okay, I had a look at the stretch markers and that appears to be a pretty good alternative. It would be nice if the marker were just a little bigger. These poor eyes are not what they used to be! I also understand what you mean about taking care not to alter the audio as I did succeed in doing that but this is a workaround and thank you. I'm just going to start a tv series which requires these reasonably accurate positionings.

I wish REAPER had Item Markers (Markers residing inside of the Item.) This way, when you move any Item, the Item Marker would move with the Item because it is inside of the Item. (As opposed to outside, like normal Markers.) This is something that would be stored within the .rpp & not in the source Item (be it MIDI or audio data.) But it COULD be placed inside the rendered file if desired.
