RE: I really want to switch to Reaper (but Reaper won't allow me)
It would certainly be great if reaper could reorder the drum notes like qbase can do... but we all know that atm it cannot. However, as has been mentioned, there are non-native workarounds by using both the JS plugin and writing your own reorder text file ... you can make a C2 input trigger whatever, say a D#4... or whatever Then I suppose you can use that as an Input FX on the track... [Note: I did this a few times before we had Input FX and had to send that reorderd midi output to a whole other track as input and put the VSTi there... a real PITA] OK.. then you would also have to make the 'reaper style' drum map for the piano roll keys in the midi editor, so that the hit names showed up properly in midi editor. Somewhat tedious, but if you mostly want this for just one given VSTi, like AD, then it's a few hours work and you are good to go. I used to use cubase, and a few other DAW's... since going to reaper a few years back, I don't open those DAW's anymore... It took some time to get used to 'the ways of reaper'... and I'm still always learning more... but to me it is worth the effort.
RE: I really want to switch to Reaper (but Reaper won't allow me)
I would like to have an INSERT button on the media explorer where the highlighted sound gets inserted at cursor and would butt against the the last inserted entry each time pressed for adding drum tracks
