I have watched a lot of tutes on MIDI editing in Reaper, and have learned a lot....but i can't find one which answers a very basic question. Please help! In the piano lane I try to select a bunch of notes and delete them. But when ever I do this (right clicking and dragging over not the notes highlighting them) it automatically selects ALL the MIDI data in the piano roll. i.e. I want to delete 4 bars of MIDI drums. I select the 4 bars. But as I release my right finger from pressing the whole damn thing is selected i.e. 28 bars for instance please help!
If you go to the Actions menu at the top of the screen, then show actions, type "glue" into the search field and you'll find it. Mine is set to CMD-G, but I'm on Mac and can't remember if that's the default. Select the looped item and use your keyboard shortcut for glueing.
To erase just the hi hats, "right click" the note on the piano roll itself (the piano key representation) and that selects everything on that midi line. Hit erase.
