Rendering Individual MIDI Notes?

MessageAuthor

Hi - I am trying to find out if there is a way to render individual MIDI notes into WAV files. The Crash cymbals on a MIDI drum track are too low (volume) even when maxed out in the editor. I would like to create a stem of this MIDI note so I can have more control over the crash in the mix. It would be cool to be able to render the whole drum kit as seperate stems. Is there a way to do this?? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

don't know what VSTi you are using ...so there could be other ways to go about this, but basically: let's say you have one drum... crash or whatever... and use ONLY the midi notes for that [mute the others or have the others on separate midi traks being sent to the VSTi and muted for the moment... OK so solo what you wan to hear then render and clk the box at bottom of render dialog to add the render to the project as a new track... name the rendered track rinse and repeat for all the drums you want... now you have wav files of each drum

well do you have the crash all going to it's own audio out track? If yes... then just get the wav there and boost the volume.. in one of various ways... IF not, then maybe mute all the other drums and render out a wav of the just the crashes and then boost that wav's volume I don't have SD5 so can't know what is possible in it.... but most VSTi's have internal ways to increase the volume of each drum
