bearings

MessageAuthor

Just to let you know, the rear bearing on my 2005 XC90 have just had to be replaced at only 30,000 miles. I am told that there seems to be a problem with a supplier and a lot of cars in my are Essex/Suffolk border are having to have them replaced. So much so i am having to wait for new parts from a new supplier to arrive but have been promosed these will be ok and won't fail like the old one. This is after my car went in about 6 months ago on a recall to do with something in the same area. Would love to know if the same has happened to anyone else.Mine was under warranty, would imagine would cost a pretty penny otherwise.

RE: bearings

Worrying. I'm unlikely to get near 30,000 before the warranty expires. If this is a design fault is it possible Volvo would replace this for free out of warranty ? If there is enough statistical data out there, I hope there is a chance they could be influenced to do so. Is a wow-wow noise the main symptom?
